Edinburgh 2012

Dav quite wanted a mini-trip away for his birthday and had somewhere like Leeds or Newcastle in mind – but who can resist an Edinburgh Christmas? I also accidentally-on-purpose booked somewhere a bit out of our price range to stay for the night (The Caledonian – quite nice but not worth standing outside in the cold in a hotel bathrobe for the 2.30am fire alarm…)

On the first day we had a wander around the German Christmas market, drank mulled wine and hot chocolate and headed out on the night for food and a few pubs. On the Sunday we popped along to a food festival, watched a cooking demonstration, ate A LOT of free samples and then tried to go Christmas shopping before we remembering how much we both hate it. I also managed to lose my train ticket twice but managed to get home on first class without paying the extra, cue lots of free sandwiches, biscuits and coffee. WIN.

Here are a few pics, there aren’t many which surely shows a good time was had by us both 🙂
